Italy travel guides

It’s impossible for me to choose an absolute favourite country (it depends on how hungry I am 🙃) but Italy is always in the top three. If I won the lottery I’d book a one way flight, buy one of those €1 fixer-uppers in the countryside, and live out my dream as a professional pasta critic.

I’ve visited Italy more times than I can count, mostly solo, usually by train, and each region feels like a different world. There’s the glitzy Amalfi Coast (best seen from the water by the way), layers of history to uncover in Rome and Florence, one-of-a-kind Venice, the culinary heartland of Emilia-Romagna, sleepy villages and sun-drenched beaches in Puglia, mountain magic in the Dolomites, and so much more for travellers of all budgets, priorities and palates.

You’ll find all my Italy blog posts (so far) below. If there’s a specific region, itinerary or guide you’re looking for that I haven’t covered yet, let me know here and I’ll add it to my to-write list.

The ultimate 2 month Europe itinerary

This two month Europe itinerary is the perfect route to explore Europe by train. For each destination I’ve included train details on how to get there, train costs, seat reservation fees for rail pass holders, things to do, places to eat and where to stay.
