Maybe this is a controversial opinion, but I reckon Austria is one of the most underrated countries in Europe.

The mountains are pure magic, with a price tag lower than the neighbouring Swiss Alps and Italian Dolomites. Infrastructure is excellent, linking major cities with loads of other European hubs. And Austria’s historical significance is on full display, with everything from classical music halls and imperial palaces to modern museums and political buildings that witnessed some of Europe’s most pivotal moments.
