Where to stay in Lisbon: Hotel White

After our escape from reality at the dreamy Mercedes Country House in Faro, we were ready to hit the city and live it up in a boutique hotel in Lisbon. Hotel White was the perfect place to do just that! Our two-storey suite was huge, with the living area (and designated unpacking space!) downstairs and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

Located just a minute away from Saldanha metro station or a short Uber to the main shopping, eating or drinking areas, it was the perfect place to be based without having to deal with parking in the busy and narrow central Lisbon streets. In saying that, parking in the underground parking building across the road, like most parking buildings in Europe, was a somewhat stressful experience.

The room itself was stunning. It had classy decor paired with mirrored accents that kept the room light and bright, a view over the colourful neighbouring buildings, and the bed was super comfortable. My favourite part of our stay though, was the epic rooftop pool! I stayed in bed while my travel buddy got up for sunrise, which photos can confirm was absolutely mind-blowing. I woke up during golden hour (luckily!), so I threw on my togs and jumped in for some photos. We stayed up there listening to good tunes for 45 minutes before it was time to start the day. Going in the pool first thing was slightly too chilly for me but I imagine it heats up throughout the day

This is the one thing I would say that wasn’t up to scratch. There’s continental breakfast but no cooked options, which really surprised me given high quality of everything else at the hotel.

Aside from the breakfast, everything else at the hotel was fab. The staff were friendly, the rooms were impeccably beautiful, the rooftop terrace and pool were amazing, and the location was ideal. I’ll definitely be keeping this place in mind for my next Lisbon trip.
